American Culture and Communication

The American Culture and Communication program (ACC) is a part-time course that helps participants improve English speaking and comprehension skills while learning about American culture and life in Southern California. The program is designed for participants 18 years or older who are in the United States for tourism, business, and/or visiting family.

  • Visitors to Los Angeles 18 years or older who are in the United States for tourism (B-1, B-2 visa), business, and/or visiting family and want to study in a part time English Program
  • Visitors to Los Angeles who want to learn about American culture and life in Southern California
  • Visitors to Los Angeles who want to gain confidence communicating with native speakers
  • Visitors to Los Angeles who want to study alongside other international students, professionals, and visitors in one of the best-known neighborhoods in Los Angeles: Westwood Village

  • Develop listening comprehension skills and speaking fluency
  • Explore American culture, pop culture, TV, media studies, grammar, movies, idioms and slang, business English, marketing, and more
  • Expand vocabulary

  • Minimum Age: You must be 18 years of age on or before the start of the program.
  • A visitor visa (B-1, B-2) for business and/or tourism is required.

American Culture and Communication
Morning classes with three 50-minute sessions. Students will be placed into classes based on the placement exam provided at the beginning of the session.
