Hamid Saghizadeh, PhD, MBA, Boeing Technical Fellow, BCA SoCal Design Center. He presently leads Boeing Leadership Mastery, Durability and Damage Tolerance (DaDT), and Composites Education and Training Activities for SoCal Engineering Design Center. He is a Professor at UCLA, SAMPE (Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering) SoCal Site and N. America Leadership Development Leader, and Editor and among Original Founders – International Journal of Structural Integrity and holder of 3 Patents. Won “Creativity Award” for arriving at a new concept of leadership, and “Leader of the Year Award” by Boeing Leadership Association of Southern California (BLASC).
Hamid has significantly contributed to the advancement and higher education and training at Boeing and have developed significant training courses and programs for Boeing engineers including leading large teams across the enterprise toward successful completion of challenging technical projects and strategic planning. As part of NASA/SWRI Consortium, he also serves as a point of contact for space products representing Boeing at SWRI and NASA. He also served as VP at Large for BLASC, 2015-2016.
Dr. Saghizadeh is the founder and leader of two successful Joint Industry and Academia Educational Certificate Programs – “Leadership Mastery Certificate Program” and “Structural Analysis Certificate Program”, and recently, “Quality and Project Engineering Management Certificate Program”. Hamid also led the planning and development of Knowledge Management System.
(MSEKM) at Boeing Space and Intelligence Systems (S&IS). As part of his efforts, he developed strategy and roadmaps to establish an integrated system to capture, develop, organize and disseminate organizational knowledge and strategy. The main challenge was to develop the underlying cultural shift and to increase awareness and understanding of the organizational vision and objectives.
While leading SoCal Structure Training and Culture of Learning, Sharing and Leadership, Hamid has developed effective training curriculum in SoCal. He also teaches courses in the areas of Composites, Nanotechnology, Quantum Mechanics, and “Unleashing the Full Potential Within- The New Paradigm of Leadership” course, which has been well received in all sites of SoCal. Per recommendations from the graduates and Sr. Mangers, Hamid is making the program available to Boeing Enterprise including Executives. Dr. Saghizadeh also teaches Quality Engineering Management for MS Online at UCLA.
Hamid is a Summa Cum Laude graduate and holds BSME, and M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
