Dr. Taggart's professional work experience consists of 40 years of industrial experience. He has worked at such companies as Department of Water and Power of Los Angeles, Bell Telephone Labs, Hughes Aircraft (now Boeing), and TRW (now Northrop Grumman). His current work includes the analysis and simulation of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and communications oriented systems.
Additionally, on a part-time basis he has also taught about 400 classes in engineering, technology, and computer science. At UCLA extension he has taught about 250 classes in a period of about 40 years of teaching.
Furthermore, in about the last nine years he has co-authored approximately 30 technical papers published and presented at IEEE Conferences related to the specialties fields of communications and digital signal processing. These papers can be accessed on the IEEE Xplore site.
Dr. Taggart consistently stays abreast of current technology, including DSP and Communications Systems and their hardware, analysis, and computer simulations and tries to bring this work background to his classes and to share his knowledge about these technologies.
